Archive of 20th century Italian art
The archive containing 20th century Italian art originated in 1970, thanks to the efforts of Christa Baumgarth, who conceived and established the collection. The archive was managed by Dr. Sandra Galigani from 1989 to 1999.
The archive collection supplements the library’s regular pool of resources with its collective focus, namely 20th century Italian art. The archive contains subscripts of up to a maximum of 15 pages (e.g. exhibition catalogues), so-called “grey literature“ (such as brochures, newspaper cuttings and invitations to private views) and photographs.
The archive is accessed via an artists’ catalogue. The archive’s monographic collection is listed in alphabetical order by artist, with catalogues concerning group exhibitions listed in topographical order.

The archive can be accessed for research purposes by appointment.
